ANIME: Hunter X Hunter Gets Rebooted
Any fans of the 1999 anime series Hunter X Hunter? Well, if you are, then you're in for some good news. The NTV broadcasting network just recently announced that they will be airing a new, rebooted Hunter X Hunter series.
That's right. Yoshihiro Togashi's manga series will be getting a whole new adaptation this October 2nd, and will be developed by Madhouse Studio.
The original television series ran from 1999-2001, and had three OVAs that ran from 2002-2004. Last year, mania.com even had Hunter X Hunter in their "Top 10 Anime Series That Need A Reboot."
Now, I'm usually against remakes of the sort. I'm seeing it all over hollywood, and in comic books, and I'm kind of getting tired of it all. This, on the other hand, I am okay with. Hunter X Hunter was a great series, and updating it with today's visuals and technology, could definitely win over a whole new generation of anime goers. I can't wait to check out the new rendition of the show.
