Earlier this year, it was announced that a new Rurouni Kenshin anime was going to be produced, which was later revealed to be a 2-part OVA remake of the popular Kyoto Arc. Well, now you can feast your eyes on a new promo video and a couple of still photos.
This trailer was posted on the official website earlier today, along with a couple of images:
The first part to the 2-part OVA will be screened in Japanese theaters on December 17th. The new series will be directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi, and will be animated by Studio DEEN, the same people who worked on the original series more than ten years ago. Noriyuki Asakura will also be returning to compose the soundtrack. The entire voice-cast will remain the same, which includes Mayo Suzukaze to reprise her role as Kenshin Himura. The only character who won't be voiced by the same actor will be Hajime Saitō, who will be played by Ken Narita.
There is also a live-action Rurouni Kenshin movie being filmed right now, which is scheduled to release sometime next year.
