Jon Bernthal, known for his breakout role as Shane in AMC's hit zombie series The Walking Dead, is currently in talks to star in Frank Darabont's period drama L.A. Noir. But if Bernthal is already looking for work elsewhere, could this mean Shane Walsh will be meeting his demise by the end of the second season?
Variety reports that TNT is currently in early conversations with the actor to star in the L.A. Noir pilot, which will be led by once Walking Dead showrunner, Frank Darabont. As of right now, there is no certainty that Bernthal will star though, seeing how the deal is barely being worked on.
Still, the fact the Bernthal is already up for another television series could mean Shane won't survive the end of the current season. For those who aren't aware [SPOILER] Shane dies early in the comic series that the TV show is based off of. Yeah, the AMC adaptation has strayed away from the source material quite a bit, but I wouldn't be surprised if they kept Shane's death in the series. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens on February 12th when the second season continues.
But if Bernthal ends up getting the role for L.A. Noir, he'll be playing Joe Teague, a Los Angeles cop that the show will be centering on. The TNT series will be based on John Buntin's book of the same name.
