It's been a while since we've last heard anything Phantasy Star Online 2, where it was announced that it would get released on PC. Although it doesn't look like it will be heading to PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, it'll instead be landing on the PS Vita, and iOS and Android mobile devices.
According to Andriasang, Sega's upcoming MMO will be a free downloadable game, and it will also be free to play. Of course, like many free to play MMOs, there will be some money involved in the form of a transaction system if you're interested in purchasing certain items.
As already mentioned, the game will also coming to smart phone devices that run iOS or Android. These two smartphone versions will offer a much simpler character creation, and a more user friendly control experience. All the social game elements will also be available. And while the PC and Vita version will allow for cross platform gaming, the mobile devices will only be able to share data with the other two.
The PC version will be available in Japan early this summer, while the smartphone version will be available sometime during Winter 2012. The Vita, strangely enough, will be coming out a year from now (Spring 2013).
