GAMING: Capcom x Namco Bandai x Sega Crossover Revealed

Posted on April 10, 2012

Back in February, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed to the public that a secret 3DS crossover game was being developed between Capcom, Namco Bandai and SEGA. Images have surfaced, teasing some of the characters that will be making an appearance, but the real question is, what kind of game is it exactly? Well, it's has been revealed... as well as a couple of characters.

The game has been given the title "Project X Zone" (pronounced project cross zone, similarly to 2005 PS2 crossover Namco x Capcom), and it will be a strategy RPG. A couple of the game's characters have been revealed on the Japanese video game magazine, Famitsu, and thanks to Ameba blogger Sinobi, who was able to get a hold of this week's issue, we now have a list of who we'll be expecting to see in the game:

Capcom
Ryu and Ken (Street Fighter)
X and Zero (Mega Man)
Demitri and Dante (Darkstalkers and Devil May Cry)
Chris and Jill (Resident Evil)

Namco Bandai
Jin and Xiaoyu (Tekken)
Sanger Somvold (Super Robot Wars)
Kos-Mos and T-elos (Xenosaga)
Yurie and Estel (Tales of Vesperia)
Kaito and Black Rose (.hack)

SEGA
Pai and Akira (Virtua Fighter)
Shinguji Sakura and Ogami Ichiro (Sakura Wars)
Kurt and Riela (Valkyria Chronicles)
Ulala and Touma (Space Channel 5 and Shining Force EXA)

Also according to Famitsu, a promotional video is said to debut sometime this month. But other than that, there isn't much else to say. This game is still a mystery. However, Namco Bandai did launch the countdown website at pxz.channel.or.jp, and at this very moment of typing this article, there's about one day and three hours left on the clock. Maybe they'll be revealing the trailer when the countdown reaches zero? I guess we'll have to wait till then.
