TV: ‘Beware The Batman’ Teaser Trailer & Poster

Posted on April 19, 2012

Every couple of years, a new incarnation of Batman gets created. That goes for comics, film, and yes, animated cartoon shows. The next take on the animated Batman will be in the form of the new series, Beware The Batman, and a new teaser for the show has just been released.

Sure, this video barely shows anything (mostly the rear end of the Batmobile), but we do have a bit of what we can expect. For one, the show will be computer animated. Secondly, that doesn't sound like Kevin Conroy (the guy who's been doing the voice of Batman since the 1992 Batman: The Animated Series, including the Arkham games). The image above this article and the poster below are the only other peeks we got to how the new series will look, and I do have to say, it's interesting. The 1992 Animated series had a simple, clean look that that utilized shapes and bold colors, which worked. This one also does that... but it's a bit more stylized and exaggerated. I'll have to look at more before I can judge.

Here's the official plot description:

A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman's core characters with a rogues gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City's criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what we have come to know as a "Batman show." Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals to match the intricate twists and turns of the narrative, Batman steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight for an entirely new generation of fans. With WBA's Sam Register executive producing, and Batman Beyond's Glen Murakami and Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated's Mitch Watson producing, Beware the Batman, based on characters from DC Comics, is coming soon to Cartoon Network!

The show will premiere at an unspecified 2013 date.
