COMICS: The Original Green Lantern Will Be DC’s Gay Superhero
Remember when we said that DC was planning on turning one of their iconic, well-established characters gay? Well, we now know who it is: Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern.
According to BleedingCool, an unnamed source from this past weekend's Phoenix Comic Con confirmed that DC's new gay superhero will be the Alan Scott Green Lantern.
Most of you are probably more familiar with the Hal Jordan Green Lantern, so here's a short little bio to who Alan Scott is:
"Created by Martin Nodell, and first written with Bill Finger in 1940, Green Lantern was originally a mysticaly-based superhero, whose powers were derived from the flame of a magic lamp and he became an original member of the Justice Society Of America."
Alan Scott was reintroduced to the new DC universe with Earth-2 #1, which came out earlier this month. The second issue of Earth-2 will have the official reveal, out in June.
