We all love Loki. He is, hands down, the best villain from all the Marvel Studios films. Still, he's been the main antagonists for two films already (Thor, The Avengers), and with Thor 2 to shoot later this year, will Loki be the clashing against Thor once again? It doesn't look that way, as Marvel Studios boss confirms that they will be introducing a new villain for the sequel.
"We're going to see the other side of Asgard. It's not all polished and golden in this film. And the events of Avengers will have affected Thor for sure. His relationship with Loki will continue to evolve, and the biggest part is Natalie and Thor returning with Jane Foster.
... there will be a major new villain. A major, major new antagonist..."
Loki will be appearing the movie, but he won't be the main villain (and although Thanos was revealed at the end of The Avengers, it doesn't look like he'll be the villain in Thor 2 either). No word yet has been announced to who the villain will be, but actor Mads Mikkelsen is currently in talks to play the part.
