Before any monster is allowed to scare kids at night, they first must go to college. You didn't know that? Well, Pixar is releasing a prequel to their 2001 hit, Monster Inc., which has been titled Monsters University. In this movie, we are taken back in the days when Mike and Sully were going to college, learning how to scare the little ones.
As usual, Pixar teasers don't really give away much. There's basically one gag in this video, and nothing really else. I guess we'll have to wait for an official, full-length trailer to get a better feel on what the movie will be about.
Here's the official synopsis to Monsters University, which still doesn't reveal much:
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
Screaming with laughter and fun, “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”) and produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”). The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.
Produced by Kori Rae and directed by Dan Scanlon, the movie will feature the voice talents of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Dave Foley, Julia Sweeney, Joel Murray and Peter Sohn. It's slated for a June 21, 2013 release. Expect to see this trailer attached to Brave this weekend.
