The last time we heard anything on The Wolverine, we were given a release date for the film (July 26, 2013). We knew that the second movie would be loosely based on Chris Claremeont and Frank Miller's 1982 story, where Wolverine takes his adventure to Japan, where he faces one of his greatest villains, The Silver Samurai. Well, it looks like we now know who'll be playing the samurai mutant.
Variety has reported that Korean actor Will Yun Lee has been cast to play Kenuichio Harada (aka, Silver Samurai). I'm anxious to see how he'll look like in the armor.
Also, ComingSoon has reported that the studio has hired Japanese actors for some other key roles. Hiroyuki Sanada will be playing Shingen, a Yakuza crime boss, and Hal Yamanouchi will be playing Yashida. Japanese models Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima will be playing Mariko (daughter of Shingen and Wolverine's love interest) and Yukio (an assassin hired to kill Wolverine), respectively.
They begin production next month in Australia and Japan.
