MOVIES: Will Beall’s ‘Justice League’ Script Rumored To Be Scrapped By Warner Bros.

Posted on February 8, 2013

no-justice-leagueThis might be something that will make fans feel uneasy for the development of the Justice League film. While a movie featuring the powerhouse team from the DC universe sounds like a film that could rival last years Avengers, some rumors have emerged which point that Warner Bros. could be scrapping the script. Could this be a sign that the Justice League film's future is in jeopardy?

The Avengers expanded on the summer blockbuster superhero film which featured a whole cast of heroes, and Warner Bros. wanted to capitalize this fresh perspective on the Justice League but found that Beall's take wasn't in their best interest. One cause would be Beall's script, which is reportedly quite terrible according to the informants, and having the studio interfering hasn't alleviated the situation. The screenplay didn't fare as well either, which might explain why Warner Bros. is having a hard time securing a director for the project. Some also point out that DC is trying too hard to play catch up with Marvel, and pushing the film with no real outstanding material is just hurting them, thus the search for new writers is a possibility.

Let's not forget The Man of Steel. If  these rumors are true and the latest Superman flick is their gauge for whether or not they should continue the Justice League, then the project could be riding on a thin line or maybe a gold ticket, and that is if The Man of Steel earns enough at the box office. If there's any assurance that led to the success of The Avengers, it was due to most of the members having successful solo films leading up to their team-up film. DC might be going all-in with this Superman's upcoming movie.

It's possible that DC could completely turn things around until their projected 2015 release date, but until then the outlook isn't looking very optimistic for this film.
