MOVIES: Sam Raimi To Write Evil Dead 4 This Summer

While Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead reboot is slated for an April 5, 2013 release, it looks like the creator of the original film, Sam Raimi, has his own plans to continue where he left off in Army of Darkness.

While promoting his upcoming movie, Oz the Great and Powerful, Raimi was asked about returning to the Evil Dead franchise. This was his response (via BleedingCool):

"I would love to make Evil Dead 4. My brother and I plan to work on the script this summer."

So it looks like he'll working on the script with, who we assume, is Ivan Raimi, the brother who also help him pen Drag Me to Hell, Army of Darkness and Darkman.

As happy as I am to hear this, it gets a bit confusing. If Raimi does Evil Dead 4, would the rebooted Evil Dead also be getting sequels? If so, that would be two different Evil Dead storylines would be getting developed in parallel with each other.

Of course, the bigger questions is: would Bruce Campbell return to play Ash?
